Part of living in South Florida is dealing with those wet, nasty furballs the region seems to be prone to coughing up a few times each year. For the most part, our beautiful sunshine is only occassionally marred by these recalcitrant storms with horizontal rain. Just beacause the really bad ones don't seem to hit us but once or twice a lifetime doesn't excuse our vigilance! I always keep the following resources handy so my friends, family and I can keep a wary eye on the current status of storm developments.

• My favorite resource is the Weather underground Hurricane Page. It is a little slow to load, but quite comprehensive in the variety of warnings, forecasts, and imagery. It even shows history maps of hurricanes in comparison with other hurricanes that have resulted from similar conditions.
• Lowe's has a put together a page in conjunction with FEMA and the Palm Beach Post. It is a very feature rich page that is definitely worth a visit.
• The Weather Channel has a Tropical Storm Page
• The Fort lauderdale Sun Sentinel has a Shockwave Hurricane Page called Hurricane Central
